It is my great pleasure to announce that the latest edition of Soundscape: The Journal of Acoustic Ecology has been released by the World Forum for Acoustic Ecology.

Soundscape, Volume 16 is the second of a pair of issues sharing the theme of guest editor Jay Needham, “Sounds Emergent: Diverse Ecologies.”  This edition celebrates the life and work of Pauline Oliveros with articles by Edward Shanken, Yolande Harris, Seth Cluett, Tomie Hahn and Stephan Moore. Also included are reviews and commentary by Honna Veerkamp, Maile Colbert and Heather Contant and an extended article on augmented reality audio by Leah Barclay.  My own report touches on various WFAE activities throughout 2017 including affiliate news and endorsed events and conferences. In the Media | Sound experts make art of the noise all around

On January 19 Chicago Tribune, columnist Barbara Brotman published this interview with me.

We discussed urban soundscape awareness, the upcoming soundwalk in Ryerson Woods and concert by Chicago Phonography, on Sunday, January 25, 2015 organized in partnership with the Brushwood Center, Midwest Society for Acoustic Ecology (MSAE), and World Listening Project. If you can pass the pay wall with a digital subscription to the Chicago Tribune, I’m told there is a video interview with me in the online version of the article. The soundwalk and performance was free for public participation. MSAE will report on the event in late February.

WFAE Feature Article: Observations On “Crossing Listening Paths”

My report, “Observations on the 2011 WFAE International Conference “Crossing Listening Paths,” about the 2011 WFAE International Conference is published in the Nov/Dec WFAE Newsletter.

This report is describes my personal observations of the conference and Kerkyra, on the island of Corfu, Greece. Rather than offering an analysis of the events, I wrote about whatever held my memory for any reason. The photos were taken by Nigel Frayne and me.

Here’s one sound. I hope to post more sounds when time allows.
