Singing Insects Monitoring Soundwalk at Indian Boundary Park

My soundwalking practice is informed by Hildegard Westerkamp, an internationally renowned composer and ecologist. She says soundwalks directly engage each participant in the complex interrelationships of sound making and listening wherever we are. It can be a challenge to understand or a meditation, or just for fun. In a group, I find that soundwalks take on an especially positive social character, while providing a chance to refresh our senses, to gain a different sensory perspective of our world around us. This resonates Annea Lockwood’s theme of “Listening With” created by her for World Listening Day 2019.
