Chicago Phonography in Temperatures and Shapes : Arctic Live/Chicago

Sunday, October 3 I perform with Chicago Phonography in “Temperatures and Shapes : Arctic Live/Chicago,” part of a Fifth Annual Chicago Calling Arts Festival event that creatively explores the themes of temperatures and shapes – such as ice, mountains, climate change, bodies of water, the shape of things to come – and Arctic Live, which also celebrates the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

This event includes a musical performance, video presentations, soundscapes, and 2D and 3D artworks:

  • Here Come the Plants — a project by The Seed Project
  • Under the Iceberg — a projection by Alpha Bruton, inspired by the great African American explorer George Gibbs
  • a two-channel video by Andrea Polli
  • a video by Annie Heckman
  • My Utopias and Dystopias Doth Protest Too Much, a skyped objects debate

Plus…performances by Michael Bettine, Ben Gray, and Chicago Phonography, with audio recordings contributed by the Nimalan Yoganathan, World Listening Project, Kat Krause and Wild Sanctuary/Arctic Live™, and other TBA groups and individuals.
