Sad news arrived today, but the good news is that our other friend and colleague from SAIC, Sue Frame is okay we are told.

Flo’s amazing work in Haiti was written about in the Art21 series last year.

Here’s a link to a local news report.

NEWS UPDATE [received 1/19/2010] From my co-worker, Rosalynn Gingerich:

Sue and Flo’s story is now receiving national press, and I have attached several links for you to visit. One contains several pictures of Sue taken yesterday in Jacmel. Yesterday was especially rewarding in that for the first time, we found concrete sources to help transport Sue and Flo out of Jacmel. I can tell you that we have both military and private sector options available. However, details are changing by the second, and I feel that it is best not to elaborate further.

We have again confirmed that Sue is healthy and working hard with a team of professionals to help recover Flo’s body. This is a very slow and tedious process, and we know that it may take a bit more time before it is complete. I made contact with an organization who has an orphanage in Jacmel. They were able to put me in contact with a man, Mark, who is helping to coordinate flights at the airport. Mark confirmed that he had spoken with Sue several times over the past week, and I asked him to please give Sue a hug the next time he saw her, and he said that he would!

Thanks to all for your generous support. The families of Sue and Flo are deeply grateful.
