In the performances I create an electronic sound bed for an improvised intimate phone call between two well-known Chicago performers who are unknown to each other while the eavesdropping audience uses headphones to listen in. My instruments include a simple, self-built interface for playback eight channels of audio, using hand-held inductors. The audio sources consist of pre-recorded environments, objects, and synthesized sound.
