Sound Structure: Sound and Art in an Era of Flow
4:30-5:30 p.m.
Presented by the International Sculpture Center
Polly Ullrich’s feature article about sound in art in Chicago comes out in the May issue of Sculpture Magazine. Read her full article online with audio and video, “Making Worlds: Chicago Sound As Sculpture.”
Polly’s article inspired the International Sculpture Center to sponsor a panel discussion on sound art in Chicago during the Art Chicago exposition: Art Chicago Talk Shop: SOUND STRUCTURE: Sound and Art in an Era of Flow happens Saturday April 30 at 4:30 pm. The panelists are Shawn Decker, Andrea Polli, and Christopher Janney, with Polly moderating.
It was perhaps a little over one year ago when I spent a couple hours talking with Polly about sound, art, and Chicago Phonography. Our collective was honored to be invited to create an installation and several performances in the “Here/Not There” series at the Museum of Contemporary Art, as mentioned in her article.
Audio from the Chicago Phonography performances with be posted.
