Sound Structure: Sound and Art in an Era of Flow

4:30-5:30 p.m.

Presented by the International Sculpture Center
cityscape_projection2Polly Ullrich’s feature article about sound in art in Chicago comes out in the May issue of Sculpture Magazine. Read her full article online with audio and video, “Making Worlds: Chicago Sound As Sculpture.”

Polly’s article inspired the International Sculpture Center to sponsor a panel discussion on sound art in Chicago during the Art Chicago exposition: Art Chicago Talk Shop: SOUND STRUCTURE: Sound and Art in an Era of Flow happens Saturday April 30 at 4:30 pm. The panelists are Shawn Decker, Andrea Polli, and Christopher Janney, with Polly moderating.

It was perhaps a little over one year ago when I spent a couple hours talking with Polly about sound, art, and Chicago Phonography. Our collective was honored to be invited to create an installation and several performances in the “Here/Not There” series at the Museum of Contemporary Art, as mentioned in her article.

Audio from the Chicago Phonography performances with be posted.
