Earth Day Edition of Hear Below Soundwalk, April 22

Saturday, April 22 at 1:00 PM

Meet in the subway at the CTA Lake Street Red Line Station, on the east side leading toward Macy’s.

I lead a soundwalk to launch the fifth annual Hear Below: Listening to Chicago Underground, part of a program of guided and self-guided soundwalks organized by young artists. They are supported by NON:op Open Opera Works and Midwest Society for Acoustic Ecology. Sign up by clicking here.

This soundwalk will last for approximately one hour. Locate CTA Red Line Stations on transitchicago.com.

Since 2009 there are 93 posts about soundwalks on this blog. Perhaps it is interesting to know that Earth Day was officially recognized by a resolution of the U.S. Congress in the spring of 1970. It was conceived and realized through the efforts of United States senator Gaylord Nelson (D-WI). This date is also the birthday of Vladimir I. Lenin and Saint Francis of Assisi.
