ESS posted my performance with Anna Friz for the opening of Respire at Audible on its SoundCloud profile. What you hear, amongst a roomful of radios receiving the sounds of breathing and other bodily exclamations typically absent from regular radio programming, is Anna playing amplified sruti, mbira, and electronics. An online article about my springboard just posted on April 4 in the Daily Egyptian, the newspaper of Southern Illinois University. I was interviewed by Pat Sutphin when I performed in the Outside the Box Music Festival, on Saturday, April 2. You can look and listen to it in the multimedia section. Jay Needham curated the evening of radio art and surround sound works in which I performed on that evening.

Eric Leonardson joins Berlin-based turntablist/sound artist Ignaz Schick, and many others, performing in two nights of experimental music @ Enemy. Doors open at 8:00 p.m. Music starts at 9:00 p.m.

Seeded Plain is Bryan Day (Decorah, Iowa) and Jay Kreimer (Lincoln, Nebraska), two experimental instrument makers who have been performing with new and unusual sounds on instruments made from everyday objects and materials. Their Entry Codes CD on Creative Sources (Portugal) was described as “playfully cranky and enjoyable…well worth the listen.” See their March 2011 Mini-Tour schedule here.

Chicago Phonography is a collective of artists interested in promoting creative activity in listening by broadcasting unprocessed field recordings as an ensemble in a context of live improvisation.
