Distinguished authors Stuart Dybek and Yusef Komunyakaa will read their work along with emerging artists Rachel Webster and the winners of the Poetry Center’s Hands on Stanzas Student Inaugural Poem Contest.
On April 4th WFMU threw a launch party for its FreeMusicArchive.org, a curated blog site for free and legally downloadable music. WFMU is currently the longest running freeform radio station in the United States. It is listener-supported, broadcasting at 91.1 FM in New York, at 90.1 FM in the Hudson Valley, and on the Internet with a wealth of online offerings. Among them is “Beware of the Blog.” Here’s its February 20 post about the launch party for the Free Music Archive.
The new edition of my book, Handmade Electronic Music – The Art of Hardware Hacking, is out! Lots of new circuits and illustrations, more examples of artists’ designs, and a DVD with 87 1-minute video clips by hackers from all over the globe, as well as a series of step-by-step video tutorials by me.

We’ve taken some explorations and put them into a 17-minute low-tech chamber-piece called Light Cycle (featured in Program A) , performed by Mark Comiskey, Brian Shaw, and Laura Fisher, directed by Dexter Bullard, with me providing sound.
